You witness an alarming or upsetting event?

  1. You must speak up to clearly state that this behavior is unacceptable.

  2. If you’re not comfortable intervening directly, please:

  1. Contact your teacher, tutor, or the program director responsible for your program, or fill out the event reporting form.

  2. The intervention team will promptly assess the situation to determine whether it constitutes:

    • Incivility: Behavior or remarks that lack courtesy or politeness. This refers to conduct that violates social norms.

    • Intimidation: Any behavior, words, actions, or gestures (whether deliberate or not) that are repetitive, expressed directly or indirectly (including online), in a context marked by an imbalance of power between the individuals involved, and that cause distress or harm, injury, oppression, or exclusion. (LIP, art.13)

    • Violence: Any display of force (verbal, written, physical, psychological, or sexual) intentionally directed at a person, resulting in distress, harm, injury, or oppression by attacking their integrity, psychological or physical well-being, rights, or property. (LIP, art.13)

  3. An action plan will be developed to support you based on the nature of the event. This plan will include appropriate support measures. For minors, parents will be involved in the process.

  1. We will contact you to hear your version of the events and understand the situation.

  2. The intervention team will assess the situation to determine the severity of the act or behavior. Depending on the case, police involvement may be considered.

  3. An action plan will then be implemented based on the nature of the event. This plan may include educational measures, support services, and disciplinary sanctions if necessary. Parents of minor students will be informed of the action plan.
